Hvilket betød at stort set al NS-trafik vest for Pittsburgh lå stille...

Friday evening my good friend Raymond Stern drove from NJ to Pittsburgh so we could spend the weekend together railfanning. And Saturday morning the news told about a major derailment northwest of Pittsburgh at Beaver. Meaning that almost all NS traffic west of Pittsburgh was at a standstill...  Not good news, but fortunately we had planned to go to the former Monongahela Railway, a good hour south of Pittsburgh. The line now belongs to NS but CSX has rights as well. The only purpose of the line is coal, and then more coal...

We heard on the scanner that a train was on the southern part, headed for Blacksville no. 2 mine. And we found the train when it was turning onto the Wana Industrial Track that leads to the loader.
